Graven Games website has published a review of 'Orca Battlesuit' miniature for 'Warzone Resurrection' game. "We have a very cool model to share with you today, the Orca Battlesuit MKIV from Prodos Games for their Warzone Resurrection game. Warzone Ressurection is sci-fi themed wargame building on the best bits from previous editions of the Warzone tabletop wargames. Battles are fought between the MegaCorporations of Mankind, the Brotherhood, or its vile enemy, the Dark Legion. If any of that sounds good to you, you can download a PDF version of the rules for free from Prodos Games to get you started. Our Orca Battlesuit kit arrived in the large blister pack you can see in the photos below and is priced at £29.99 GBP (around $45 USD). The Orca is a heavily armed walking weapons platform for the Capitol faction of Warzone Resurrection. It's classed as a light vehicle, but this thing is a seriously large warmachine…"

there are a few things that I don't like about this resculpt. 1) The driver is now completely exposed (used to be completely enclosed) and is not only unprotected from hostile action, but gets his lap filled with hot empties from the gatling above his head. 2) The stupid long ammo belt that doesn't go anywhere useful like an ammo drum, but instead gets wrapped around the only arm useful for close combat. This wouldn't be so bad if the Orca didn't have a decent close combat score, but it does. 3) How does the gunner fit through the turret ring?? It looks like it's about the same size as his waist. |

Never mind the ammo boxes next to the gunners hips. Even if he could go down the coupula…… To where, crushed behind the driver…… In an open front vehicle? Why bother with a hatch pray tell. Now you have got to love the fuel drums next to the rocket pods and set high enough to spill into said open cockpit……… |

Two more things to not like!!!!! And another. 6) How does the ammo get from the gunner's ammo boxes to the gun?? |

One could always armor over the cockpit and leave off/move the fuel and ammo but I don't see how to get around the ammo belt to nowhere issue besides complete removal. Seems a lot of work to de-silly- fy it ;) |

Yeah, it would require replacing both forearms and enclosing the cockpit (possibly the gunner's turret too so that it looks unmanned). That seems like an awful lot of work for a $50 USD model (before shipping). The stats and game cards are available as free PDFs on their website (Prodos), so I'll just look for something that will work as a proxy that I can afford to get 2 or 3 of. Possibly Clockwork Goblin Minis Weird War II 28mm walkers, but those are NOT cheap, so they'll be a last resort. |
