I have moved to Pennsylvania, and 'though not fully unpacked, now have access to my Rousselot plates, my Boucquoy books, Hourtoulle plates, and Rigo's – but cannot find any illustrations of French Chasseurs a Cheval of the line carrying sabretasches. The 27th, a Belgian regiment, wore a corded dolman with or without barrel sash, and IS shown in some cases with the sabretasche, but not with the Bardin Spencer coat as show in the new plastic set by Warlord Games. Does anyone have any information on troops equipped as on the box art for this set? Always looking for new variations on this beloved old theme! GdeP |

Took a quick look through Vol.3 of H&C's "French Chasseurs à Cheval: 1779-1815" and they have zero illustrations of it being worn with the Bardin. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but H&C are really good about showing all known variations, whether depicted or described. It's one of the reasons they have multiple plates for every regiment. |

Yes would be the early ones dressed a la hussarde. |

As mentioned only Early Chasseurs wearing the Hussar-style uniforms. A couple books of plates by Ridder: link I hope the sabretaches on the Warlord figures can be easily trimmed off. |

How can Warlord claim them to be 1789-1815 when they are clearly not as they are dressed in the later uniform? .Do they come with earlier torsos ?We should be told!!! Also is it just me ,but Im sure the Napoleonic wars ran for longer than one day in 1815. |

"the Napoleonic wars ran for longer than one day in 1815." Obviously we must allow for Quatre Bras, the Retreat on 17th (as well as the skirmish that followed on the 18th of course). I seem to recall the Prussians did put up some sort of defence on 16th and again participated on 18th, both with a late arrival on the battlefield just after Wellington's victory and holding that town to the east even though grossly outnumbered. Everything says Napoleon's rule lasted for One Hundred Days, certainly that has been the impression these last few weeks……are you hinting there was something significant before that? |

Deadhead, I seem to recall reading somewhere there may have been a few skirmishes in the preceding 25 years, but I may be wrong .I believe Austria were involved somehow. |

Hello, PentexRX8: I moved from Paris, TX to a town between Pottstown and Valley Forge in March. Southeast PA. Left a 4,000 square foot ranch house for a 1,000 square food apartment, with a 10/15 storage locker near by, so no game room for me! But my old pals from this area are cleaning up their areas to game again! GdeP |
