One of the most common requests asked about 15mm miniatures is ‘where can I get some alternative heads so that It might be possible to do some head swaps.' I find it very frustrating that only a couple of miniature companies produce a limited selection of individual heads specifically for this purpose especially when you have the likes of the ex-Armies Army now Brigade models Penal Troopers and most recently GZG's mercenary / irregular troops that have such highly detailed human heads with unbelievable facial expressions I just don't understand why no one wants to produce what a large percent of 15mm gaming community appear to want most of all… Discuss |

Economics. Unless the cost of sculpting just heads is substantially lower than sculpting full figures – and why would it be? – the manufacturers are going to have to sell just as many packs of heads as full figures to make their money back. I suspect the most common use case would be, you buy a substantial amount of infantry to build a new force, but only one or two packs of heads to add variety/create characters. |

I have a lot of Peter Pigs heads that I use for duplicate figures just to change them up a little bit. |

I agree, more 15mm heads would be good, peter pigs heads are good, but are true 15mm, and therefore not great for figures towards 18mm, I bought a heap of WWI German heads for use on my 15mm Death Korps of Krieg figures, but they were to small for the Blue moon minis. |

Well it appears that just doing a run of lets say eight different human heads is simply not worth doing for most lesser established miniature companies as there is only a minimal profit margin to be gained after the full run has been sold.I posted the same question over on the 15mm Sci-fi Facebook Group forum, scroll down about twenty posts see below. link |

Pennies worth – just got some of the GZG heads (I blame you Gunner Dunbar for encouraging conversions) – they are excellent. Obviously scaled for their miniatures (chunkier 15mm+ size). Full of both character and detail. Already used half a dozen. |
