Tremendous generosity from a member of this forum- a donation of 55 infantry and 29 cavalry in the post from @JimDuncanUK!

Peasemoldia thanks you Jim!

Jim toils tirelessly for Combat Stress – at Claymore and elsewhere – one of the forgotten heroes ensuring that our real heroes are not forgotten!
Here's to you Jim

Indeed, a true gentleman. I salute you, Sir!

One of the traditional stereotypes of a Scotsman is a dour drunkard who is mean with money. I am not that Scotsman.

You will probably discover that modern Scots are a hardworking, generous and charitable race.

I have had tremendous support in my fundraising via the hobby from both north and south of the border and across the pond too.

The current episode entailed a few un-needed tin soldiers wending their way south and a correspondingly generous sum magically appearing by digital means in my charity warchest.

Joe may live in England but obviously has some Scottish blood in his veins as his generosity has matched mine. Well done Joe. (What part of Perthshire do you think your family come from).

It is heart warming to get such support from guys (and gals) in the hobby as there are many needful souls out there who deserve a bit more than they are currently getting.

I await further stories of charitable deeds from all of you out there.

I do have a bit of Scots blood in my veins Jim (as my surname might suggest), but I'm afraid it's Argyll, not Perthshire! I'm not sure where the idea of the Scottish being mean comes from, but I for one have never known greater generosity than when I've been north of the border.
