This two part mini-series based on Kate Grenville's novel of the same name about conflict between settlers and Aborigines on the Hawkesbury River in early 19th century NSW starts on ABC 1 on Sunday night. One of its stars is Aussie comedy icon Tim Minchin (in a dramatic role, I hasten to add). |

Glad this dark aspect of Australia's history is coming to light at last. Still too many of us who believe settlement was a bloodless conquest. |

That should be Sunday night, 14/6, BTW. I don't know who would believe that, Martin; people who never cross a library or bookshop threshold, perhaps. Surely the clue is in the word conquest. |
