Do you need the full 3rd Edition rulebook, or can you play Great War with just the pocket rulebook?

Is the supplement compatible with 2nd Edition FOW, or is 3rd Edition required??

Many thanks!

The pocket 3rd edition book is all that is needed in terms of rules (plus a magnifying glass).

You could play with 2nd edition rules. I have no idea how tanks would work. But at its heart Great War is an infantry game, and except for assaults, most infantry rules are unchanged. And even the 2nd edition assault rules would be fine as both sides would be using the rules.

As an aside, we recently played our first game of Great War, and were surprised at just how much fun it is!!!!!
