I need some Saracen horse archers. I could buy the Gripping Beast plastic horse archers, but I'm not crazy about them, particularly the kung-fu longcoat on some of their torsos. If I were to get Fireforge's Mongol light cav, and swap out their heads with extras from my Gripping Beast plastic spearmen and archers, would they work as Saracens or are there some distinctly Mongol features on those Fireforge bodies? |

I think if you call them Turkoman you will be fine. |

I did. For many years. But that was back in the 80s when our choice of figures was a lot less magnificent than it is now. |

Thanks for your thoughts, generals. I'd love to see pics, getback. |

I did that too but I needed light cavalry, not horse archers. Pics here: link |

Fonzie, anyway to see the pics without logging in? |

No sorry, login is required, can't change that without opening my forum to spammers. I get like 20 spam registration attempts per day so I'm not keen to change that. I will see if I can post the pics here. |

Those look great. I think the only thing a nit-picker could complain about is the left breast of the robe/coat overlapping the right which was, IIRC, distinctly Mongolian. What would look even better would be the Fireforge bodies with the Turk'ish heads from the GB set. |
