I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about Old Dominion Gameworks' upcoming release "Post Captain". I'm intrigued by the description on Hobby News but don't see any further info on the company site. Anyone have any info on what sort of game this will be?

is this the page you were talking about?

sounds like my kind of game, smaller actions and the ship movement system has my interest…

A friend of mine played it at Cold Wars. His opinion (and he plays a lot of sailing era games) is that it's a good game for smaller actions – ship to ship, etc. At the fleet level it bogs down because of its higher level of detail. He said it's probably even a little more detailed than WS&IM and about the level of Clash of Arms' Close Action.

I haven't played it, but I certainly wasn't expecting that level of detail – thought it would be more like GQ for sailing ships.

that is great… given the availability if fighting sails for larger actions getting a detailed set for frigate duels is fantastic…

I guess it is a good year for age of sails! by end of summer I'll have three sets of rules :)
small frigate actions post captain
a few ships of the line sails of glory
large actions fighting sails !!

really great !!!
