If a good miniatures company made a Mad Max:Fury Road game with rules, cars and miniatures would be interested in purchasing it.
a) Yes, definitely!
b) Maybe, depends on the scale.
c) Maybe, depends on the price.
d) Maybe, depends on the miniatures and sculpting.
e) Maybe, depends on all of the above.
f) Nope, got enough games and miniatures.
g) Nope, not interested in Post-Apocalyptic games.
h) Nope, no interest for other reasons.

E. Maybe. I've already done a ton of Mad Max-style post-apoc gaming on my own, in true DIY fashion. I'd hazard a guess that similarly motivated gamers have long since found a way to recreate that spectacle on the tabletop. I don't need a branded, official game to ply the wastelands in search of guzzoline.

Yes,Yes,Yes

wminsing03 Jun 2015 6:22 a.m. PST

Not a post-apoc gamer normally, so a well-done boxed set would have some appeal as a way to dip my toes in, but it would definitely be an E.

Yes I would. I remember there was a Mad Max style game called Krash from Cell Entertainment that was a lot of fun, but it would be nice to get the official licensing.

Just be careful handling the porcupine.

A for me.

Did you see the Devils Run kickstarter that ended a few days ago? So far as I'm concerned that's pretty much what you're describing although I suppose the background is different. Don't see why you couldn't just play it with the Mad Max background however.

I) It depends on if the rules are any good.

I for me….

Steve03 Jun 2015 8:11 a.m. PST

Yes, unless it was a micro scale or something. I can find other rules, I just want the minis.

Rudysnelson03 Jun 2015 8:57 a.m. PST

Car Wars is already out there. It can be a great set of rules for the mad max era. Plenty of counters or you can make your own.
Miniatures is a different matter.

mattblackgod03 Jun 2015 9:31 a.m. PST

It depends on scale but A for me.

E.

I have a fondness for Car Wars reaching back to the 80s, but it's not a system I have any interest in revisiting. Moving 1/16th of an inch each phase, modifiers, modifiers, modifiers, oh snap, you've rolled your car…and that entire process/game represents 6 seconds of actual time and had taken nearly two hours. :)

Make it matchbox scale and I'd be in. I'd have to have it match my current collection. Otherwise I'm out.

Todosi03 Jun 2015 11:53 a.m. PST

Devil's Run is in fact in Matchbox scale!

darthfozzywig03 Jun 2015 12:03 p.m. PST

Good point. Too many cars in that scale ready for conversions to not do it for Matchbox.

The old Dark Future box did a vry nice job of capturing the look of Mad Max. Those vehicle weapons sprues are super for arming up Matchboxes. I could be tempted by a new box set with flashy components.

I already have "Devil's Run".
I bought it in the eighties. It's from Milton Bradley, and it's called Thunder Road.

I) Depends on the rules. (which is the most important aspect).

Howler03 Jun 2015 7:55 p.m. PST

E too

F and G.

infojunky03 Jun 2015 10:28 p.m. PST

Well right now I am building it in 15mm, using Car Wars as the base game. I might go back to Dark Future as a Rules set, but they mostly are kinda the same….

But 15mm is set, HO scale cars, and a large selection of figures that fit the genre.

McBane04 Jun 2015 3:19 p.m. PST

Agree with E :-)

Dave Crowell05 Jun 2015 6:44 p.m. PST

E. If B,C,D and rules are good then A.

Car Wars, despite the Crossbow and Chassis rules that apeared in Autoduel Quarterly V1 #3 is not the system I would choose for Mad Max style gaming. Game play is too slow and focused on the wrong aspects.
