Yes the Lion Rampant craze is here and everyone wants into the game. Pics from last Sunday, 10 players with another newbie. Game lasted from 6 till a little after 9.

So I take all ten players brought a warband of 24 points? I love this rule system and its simple yet elegant game mechanics. I have thought I would like to run a large Lion Rampant game at a future convention. Three hours with that many figures and finished. Sounds like a winner.

Very nice

Great looking game, and that is a good run time for something that big.

Kallman,
Yes 24 points per player.
All of one side went until they had failed an activation or moved everything then it flipped to the other side.

I could see it being done at a convention with players bringing their own forces. A giant Medieval Melee!

Very interested to see this. Great looking table and figures.

I am thinking of getting a copy of Lion Rampart for my Battle of Shrewsbury 1403 game. And others around that time.

Thanks for posting.

We've done two games (and will do more), plus I'm running one next weekend at our regional convention.

This is a very easy set of rules to learn but has many layers to playing it.

D6 Junkie, I was curious as how the activation would work with such a large number of warbands. Of course I should have known it would work fine. Many of our LR games have seen the turn pass between sides so fast as everyone seems to be able to fail an activation on at least the second try. I like that aspect of the game mechanics and how it adds friction.

I am looking forward to the fantasy version of the rules coming out, a.k.a. Dragon Rampant. It might give me a reason to pull out all my old Warhammer Fantasy figures again.

Kallman, I think quite a few of the guys are looking forward to Dragon Rampant. I'm hoping to get a big Crusades battle before those rules are released.
