The Age of Tyrants site is up: ageoftyrants.com They say a kickstarter is coming soon. |

Hmm… I see a lot of names associated with the previous VOID.. I-Kore.. Urban Mammoth.. and all the shenanigans associated.. Would definitely think twice before I put any money into a kickstarter from them folks… |

I always wanted Syntha hunter killer Grav bikes in 6mm. I like some of the Syntha artwork too. We can only hope it produces some good stuff |

Was it always this gothic looking? The concept art looks great but I remember the original Void stuff being appealing because it was very high-tech looking with clean lines. |

To be fair, Project Vehemence, the, "shenanigans," you are loosely referring (since you are not mentioning specifics) was under I-Kore and revolved around an individual that admitted his wrongdoings and was fired. TMP link They reformed under Urban Mammoth (yes, with some of the same names) and started Urban War, using an "alternate reality" of the VOID game universe to concentrate on a skirmishers level instead of platoon/company level game. But to my knowledge, no distributor or retailer has ever claimed any issues, shady dealings or "shenanigans" with Urban Mammoth. I have no connection with Urban Mammoth. I love the VOID game, meh with the Urban War game and will not be buying Age of Tyrants (just to be clear.) Weasel – I loved the clean lines as well. I think one of the sculpt-themes they choose that defied some realism (and therefore made potential buyers take a pass) was the lack of any body armor (they are all in tank-tops and T-shirts!?!) with the basic marine troops. That also hampered sales of the figures in cross-use across different 28mm game systems. |

If I understand the fluff correctly this takes place awhile before the main Void time period, so maybe the style is deliberately more anachronistic? -Will |

"But to my knowledge, no distributor or retailer has ever claimed any issues, shady dealings or "shenanigans" with Urban Mammoth." While I generally agree with this, I will note that many retailers flushed the Void products during the change-over due to a general sense of betrayal, much like what happened to the DP9 lines when that company walked away with no advance notice to go play in Hollywood. Betrayal, even if just perceived, does not sit well with retailers. Distributors are even less amused by such antics. |

The Urban Mammoth models were/are outstanding. I expect that these will be pretty nice as well. I am looking forward to seeing how things progress. If the rules are sound, it could be a lot of fun. I know quite a few Epic players that would probably have fun with this game. |

GypsyComet, so… what I said is still valid. If distributors and retailers that dealt with I-Kore shied away from UM because they felt they were "burned" by I-Kore, that still translates to them not experiencing issues with UM, because they never gave them a second chance. No judgment on my part there – every business entity has the right and option to not give anyone a SINGLE chance if they wish. But again, no one that has any business dealings with Urban Mammoth has registered any wrongdoings or shady practices as far as I am aware. I could be wrong – anyone know of any business/policy/practice complaints with Urban Mammoth? Be sure we do not condemn an entire staff and their reputations over one guy's actions when the others had no idea he was defrauding the company. Baby/bathwater and all that. |

Indeed. My somewhat diffuse point was that perception and reality don't need to match for bad reputations to form. |
