Perry plastic light cavalry (1450-1500) kit has been available for over a month, so I presume that most of the enthusiasts have already obtained a box (or five) of them. So what are you going to do with yours?

Inspired by the new heads in the box, the first models that I assembled were a couple of Swiss mounted crossbowmen, but next I am going to put together a bunch of Burgundian coustiliers (with plenty of feathers on their helmets).

I am going to do six as mounted archers and the other six as scourers.

The same, 6 archers, 6 scourers. And use extra parts to make a few hyw mounted archers out of other figures.

What figures are you going to use as a basis? Fireforge mounted sergeants maybe?

Perry mounted sergeants from the Agincourt to Orleans range. The arrow bags and cloth-wrapped bows should be enough. I don't need a lot, just enough to clearly mark stands that are mounted archers for games where the distinction matters (or looks cool).

Do those mounted sergeants have separate spears? Then you could take one of the bow-holding arms, cut it off at the wrist and then carefully carve off the hand from around the bow, so that you will end up with a plain bow that could be glued to the hand. Or maybe simply cutting off both arms at the wrists and swapping the hands?

Have you seen how painterman is using the plastic bows and arrow bags on some metal figures, replacing bills with bows:

All excellent suggestions. Painterman's models are the highest standard for this kind of thing, so I regularly check his page for new ideas. The arrow sacks are brilliant.

Any chance these could be converted to Byzantines? I've always wanted to do an army for the 1444 campaign.
