Looking for a manufacturer of 1:32 scale early to mid-19th century unarmed civilians. Ideally they would be suitable for use in games set during the Texas Revolution or the Mexican-American War. I know of a manufacturer called Lemax but I don't know what figures to look for when trying to search online. I keep finding the same skiers and figure skaters. THEY ain't gonna work! |

I think your best bet would be to look at Barzso and Conte figures. Both have ranges covering the period. You may have to "disarm" figures to make them civilians. |

Steve Weston makes a range of Mexican peasants. |

Marx reproduction Miners and Trappers. Look at the civillian figures mixed in with the cowboys. These are always on Ebay and run about 15-20 bucks a bag. They are always on sale, so don't overpay.

I believe that Replicants (based in UK) has a number of ACW era civilians. |

Try Googling Preiser 1/32 figures. A bit expensive, but look around, you can get them for a bit less. I'm pretty sure they have 19thC railway passengers you might be able to use. |

Found a woman holding a baby from Replicants that should work pretty well for Susannah Dickinson at the Alamo. Picking up Steve Weston's set of peasants and then off to look for the Marx miners and trappers and the Preiser figures. I'm grateful for all the suggestions. |

Stay with Lemax – don't search for a specific figure, just Google Lemax. Keep looking. Go to their website, or any retailers site – they have photos of all the figures. There will be ones worth getting for your project. That said, adding skirts'dresses with modelling putty is one of the easiest conversions. The hard part is the face though as few can be made to look feminine even with new hair. Historex Agents do a pack of female resin heads. |
