Just put an image up on the Victrix FaceBook page of the Italian armoured warriors unit I converted, painted by Andrew Taylor. He has done a superb job so just had to share! These were converted from the Italian allied legions set,Velites, Greek legs from the peltast and unarmoured Hoplites sets and a few bits from the armoured Hoplites. Plus javelins here and there from Warlord and Wargames Facotory. |

Excellent surgery on these figures Steve. Andrew does a great job to finish them off. |

Nice! I don't suppose you'd ever consider doing Persians in plastic to fight the Greeks? |

Glad people like them. The conversions were not really very tricky on these. It was mostly chopping the legs off Greek Peltasts, slingers and archers and some Velites and then replacing those on the Armoured Italians. Any gaps just filled with a bit of green-stuff or glue. I did a few hand transplants to get some javelin variety but overall they were quick to do. The unarmoured figures I have pasted below took a little longer as on some I made Green-stuff sword straps over shoulders and shaved off some swords from Greek Peltast bodies and replaced them with Roman style sword scabbards.
With legs and bodies I had left over I have made a Campanian Hoplite unit which needs painting. |
