I had the chance (and, more importantly, the newly-painted figures!) to play out a solo refight of Pharsalus the other evening. It was a real nailbiter of a game, and I've put a photo/map report up here if anyone is interested.

I used Phil Sabin's Strategos II (precursor of Lost Battles), and thought that it was a cracking scenario. Caesar has the advantage in quality, Pompey the edge in numbers and position, and both sides have some tough choices to make and lots of dice to roll.

I look forward to doing it again for next year's Society of Ancients Battleday.

Cheers,
Aaron

Thanks Bill. There was a bit of gnashing of teeth regarding some of those tactical choices, as you touch on in your comment on the blog!

Cheers,
Aaron
