What types of armored cars and armored vehicles did the British 8th Army use in North Africa for recon units? And what time periods did they use them? Thanks in advance. |

Oddball: You might find some positive waves on this page: link Tracked recce would be by scout carriers, universal carriers and Vickers Mk VI B/C tanks early on and carriers and M-3 Honey's later. For long range recce see the vehicles of the LRDG. Cheers and good gaming. Rod Robertson. |

Obviously you are not a Flames of War player, or you would have purchased a bewildering variety of vehicles at a mere $14 USD apiece. |

As John alludes to, it is probably easier to list the vehicles they didn't use than the ones they did. |

None, they never did "recon". They did recce. |

I always figured that recon/recce in the North African desert was a blank check to use what you want. If someone complains, ask them for a photo proving it wasn't used ;-) Can't prove a negative. |
