Hi Guys,

Very impressive. Please can you tell me whatever happened to the Waterloo diorama that was in Dover Castle in the 1970s? It was awesome but so faded out.

The one depicted here says it is based on Airfix.

The one in Dover Castle seemed to be of a smaller scale.

Any help appreciated and I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread.

Thanks.

I think the one from Dover went up to Leeds

@ Nick. The dio at Dover was the second model of the battle made by Captain Siborne.

In 1962, after being moved from London, a tour around europe and ending up in Dublin, it was moved to Dover Castle. It was returned in 1982 and put back on display in Leeds in 1996.

"The diorama depicts five key stages that decided the day-long battle that finally put paid to French Emperor Napoleon's aspirations to conquer Europe. "

Actually I'd give that honor to Leipzig. Can't imagine the meticulous work required to refurbish that diorama.
