I would like to make something to represent ditches for 6mm, particularly roadside and irrigation ditches. They will generally be used on a flat table, so I guess they have to be quite representative. |

Not being able to do "recessed" ditches I would take cloth and paint the ditch on in light brown paint. Then I'd add "hash marks" like these in dark brown to show it is a ditch. Then flock the edges to match your table top:

You might do some shading as well. Lighter at the top, turning darker at the bottom. I use brown construction paper for foxholes. |
