Looking to put together a city scape in 28mm in the ZA. Have seen several nice urban game mats in this scale – anyone have any experience / opinions on best value? I live in the US. Thanks Mike |

I am interested in this as well, as I am starting to believe their are more manufacturers for this and mdf scenery than I am aware. |

The problem with mats at 28mm is that a simple four-lane intersection can legitimately be over a foot square before you count sidewalks. You don't get the block-by-block option that a ZA really calls for unless you divorce the ground scale from reality (as many of the mats used by the 40k crowd do). As for MDF, if you want to step into ultra-moderns the options are popping out of the woodwork with increasing frequency. I just tripped over a laser-cut MDF company called "Shark Mounted Lasers" this evening. They are mostly SF (and unabashed Infinity fans), but have a few Modern applicable items. They're a US company with reasonable shipping. Mad Mecha Guy is well known here, but shipping from England can get scary. There was a Kickstarter touted here mid-2013 for warehouse laser cuts that were very nice, but mostly for interior work. The company was Aftermath Mods, and their links are now all dead. |

Go get a bunch of O scale buildings off ebay and just use a grey felt cloth. Here is a photo of my Stalingrad setup for urban combat. I suppose you could add some grass if you wanted. Also go to CVS pharmacy they have a ton of cars and trucks for that scale for $4.00 USD use a coupon and buy as many as you want. link |

I used the mats from the Mantic Mars Attacks game for my last zombie game.
