I've been searching for dayglow (as versus glow-in-the-dark) fluorescent paints. Since Forged Monkey isn't selling, the only viable alternative I had was Vallejo and I couldn't tell if that one has a good "day glow" look to it.

I contacted the folks at DayGlo (http://www.dayglo.com/) and asked them about their pigments and if they had knew of a hobby paint supplier. To my surprise, they linked me to Testors acrylics. I never knew Testors did acrylics.

I've got ahead and bought the paint pot set, but I was curious if anyone had used them and what their results were? The price point for 6 pots of fluorescent colors vs. Vallejo is very enticing.

In the coming weeks, I'll be testing the Vallejo vs the Testors and see which one looks better in daylight.

Back when I used to fish I used the oil version to repaint some spoons and they worked like a charm especially in deep water. But no idea about how they will look on mini's

This is what I used…

Yup, love the Testor's flourescents! Particularly use these (and the Testor's neons and clear stoplight colours) for painting the weapons tips and engine glow on my X-Wing minis. Just undercoat with white first.

Lots of 'repaint' blog entries with many pix: goblinhall.com/tag/repaint

Thinking about it, the stoplight colours are acrylic and I undercoat those with enamel chrome silver, and , the flourescents and neons I have are enamels.

@miniMo – I'd read that about the Vallejo, and was intending on doing same for the Testors, so thank you for confirming that.

I am curious to see how the acrylics turn out, as compared to your enamels. Stay tuned!

Hopefully you'll all be able to see this link of a mini-review that I did of the Testors vs. Vallejo fluorescent paints – it's over on Google+ on a Miniatures Painting community.
