I recently finished two Alouette III helicopter models produced by Armaments in Miniature, LLC. They are both 1/100 scale resin kits consisting of about 20 pieces. Decals: Rhodesian markings and South African markings are available separately.

The G-car, carrying a fire team, is armed with twin .30 cal. MGs. The K-car is armed with a 20mm cannon. Both have gunner figures included. There is also an option for a single 7.62mm MG G-car. I also added a couple of figures to the G-car to represent the fire team.

Options I selected: Added trorps to the G-car, elephant ear intakes for both, twin .30 cals for the G-car, rear compartment doors left off of the G-car, port rear compartment door left off of the K-car.

I didn't have any issues with the kits. The parts fit together well and only needed minor work to remove seam lines. I recommend replacing the landing gear struts with wire or using a small clear stand to support the models if they're to be displayed on the ground. The resin struts do support the models but could be easily broken, splayed, or warped during gaming.

The models can be found towards the lower portion of this URL: link

Nice job. I would have never though thought an Alouette could handle a 20mm cannon – especially in the door.

Fabet01, I was surprised at the configuration of the two when I started doing research. The G-car carried the pilot, the tech/mg gunner, and a fire team of four troops. The K-car carried the pilot, the force commander, and the tech/20mm gunner. Kevin

Wish these were in 20mm……nice models!

Seriously tempted by those. My Rhodesia stuff's 20mm, but going down a scale for the air support might be no bad thing, and they sure look the part. Great job.

First question: Does anyone else feel like arguing with someone who thanks us for looking when the work is so 'pretty?'

Second question: Anyone else think the prices are more than reasonable for such specialties?

In spite of seeing some of the weird Rhodesian/South African home brews, no matter how oft I've said 'wouldn't be surprised…', that 20mm hanging off the side DID stop me a bit. ;->=

Design-by-crowbar…

Kevin, fantastic work. I love the canopy effect. You make AIM products (and others as well) come alive.

Great job! The detailing is perfect, love the Rhodesian roundel,I painted them on all my Rhodesian planes only to find out, they stopped doing it after the Viscount Rhodeia airliner was shot down by a strella missile.the roundel gave off a extra heat signature from the suns reflection, but it looks awesome,I still paint them on mine.
