I tested out some homegrown infantry skirmish rules, based loosely on some rules I had used last year. It was an 8 British soldier patrol on a 2'x'2' board. I did the reports last year in comic style, and have done the same here. Of course being me, I have surrounded the actual 5 page comic with a long introduction, some background on the gaming, the game as a narrative and a final verdict! but there is 5 pages of comic action in the blog post:

Brilliant Shaun :)

I always love the comic book style especially with your own unique use of humor :)

And Trojan Pig is back!! Yay! Great to see him making an appearance even if it was in a more diversionary role :)

And Corporal Box with the trots …no wonder he did …look at the size of those chicks :) It actually reminded me of the old Rep of Ireland vs England footie game where Gary Lineker during the game got the trots and well $@#$ himself on the pitch!

Anyhows …it's brilliant to see some of the minis I had when I was a kid. I really wish I had them now…I'd definitely painted them up and play some games with them…

Wonder can they still be got?

Thanks for posting Shaun :)

Those are some gnarly sized chickens.

Surprised one of the enterprising dog-faces didn't bag one for lunch :-)

Yes, trojan pig is back. One day I will buy some smaller sized farm animals for the toy store. Until then the larger ones will have to do.

You can still get the Airfix and Matchbox infantry boxes.

Ivan, if they had bagged one, I think it would have fed a platoon for a week!

Do not buy new farm animals…I will never forgive you :)

Long Live the Trojan Pig!

My wife gave me a plastic chicken when we played Marengo. It is about the size of the 15mm figures we use. It goes well with the herd on mutant pigs we have.

Great stuff, Shaun, glad to see you getting some gaming in.

Those Germans need to work on their marksmanship, though ;)

Jack

Hello Jack,

Still around I see. Yes, the Germans had definitely never even heard of your magic dice – it was the complete opposite – maybe they were using "anti-magic" dice :-)
