This year's Historicon Musical Wargame will be Fa, Long, Long Way to Run – The Sound of Music The Wargame: link Nuns vs. Nazis over an annoyingly adorable singing family. |

Inspired! Particularly like the way you're cross-pollinating with "Sister Act". |

Nice! The country singer was a great touch, too. Thanks for sharing. Ron |

Of course, the real Von Trapps, I was made to understand, escaped by hiring a private train. loading their riches on it, and escaping, first class, to Switzerland. Makes for a lousy movie though… |

Makes for a lousy movie though… Not if you're a train spotter. |

Of course, the real Von Trapps, I was made to understand, escaped by hiring a private train. loading their riches on it, and escaping, first class, to Switzerland. Makes for a lousy movie though… Not exactly. First, they didn't have that much in the way of riches, since the Baron had lost a bundle trying to help out a banker friend caught out by the ridiculous inflation. Second, while they did travel in fist class, the train went to Italy, not Switzerland, and it was regular scheduled service. |

I loathe and hate that appalling film. Never in all my life have I favoured the Nazi menace, or its perverse ideology. But if forced to watch The Sound of Music, I cheer on the National Socialists like my life depends on it. Having said that - This looks BRILLIANT. I am ragingly jealous that I won't be anywhere near Historicon. I want to play this game. Heck, it looks so good, I'd even choose to play the von Trapps. May I suggest Man of LaMancha for the next game? All those windmills to destroy… |

When my daughter was a wee lass she must have watched "The Sound Of Music" 50 times. Every time I put the tape in and the opening sound of air rushing past as the camera flies over the mountains had me grinding my teeth. She chortles with glee today when I remind her of how much I loathed that sound. All grown up but still a wicked child. |

If it's any consolation, Julie Andrews hated that shot, too. They did ten takes, and each time the helicopter passed over her, the downstate knocked her down. The sound of the rotors was so loud that the crew could not hear her cries for help (or her expletives--that woman has a mouth on her!). |

So at what point does Maria open her bottomless valise, pull out her parrot-headed bumbershoot, and zoom off to battle Me-109s over the Austrian Alps? Jealous? _Me_ jealous? Ridiculuous. Well, maybe a little. Okay a lot. OK, A WHOLE BUNCH!!!! Not going to H-con, but wanna play silly fun game. WAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! |

Thanks guys. As in our previous productions, we'll be using a modified version of Howard Whitehouse's Astounding Tales! The Brownshirts are Gorgon Studios WWII Norwegians – they were the closest I could find to stormtroopers. As in previous games, players will get to re-roll dice if they sing a few bars of a Broadway song, the player running Carrie Underwood can sing a country song and the Austrian Resistance player can yodel. And I haven't mentioned our costumes… |
