How would Milriton 25mm Figures look beside Grenadier Fantasy warrior humans Milriton produces. If say one was making a Fantasy Warrior army could you use figures from both ranges. thank you. |

I think you will find they are exactly the same figures. Mirliton bought the defunct Nemo who had the original Grenadier moulds Paul |

Yes, I have Fantasy Warriors Barbarians from the original Grenadier production run and from last year's Mirliton run, and I'm pleased to report that there's no difference in the minis. Just as crisp as ever, no additional flash, and just as "round" as they ever were. (As an example, when the Star Wars mini molds transferred from Grenadier to West End Games, the minis became noticeably "flatter", probably as a result of using a 2nd- or 3rd-generation master mini to cut new molds. That is definitely *not* the case with the Mirliton Fantasy Warriors, at least not with the Barbarians.) |

Actually, Nemo didn't have the ORIGINAL Fantasy Warrior moulds, they had the US set of these UK originating figures. We (em4) have the original moulds and masters. |

Hmmm, I'm not sure you all understood gollumsmeagol's question. If I'm not mistaken he's asking how the (formerly) Grenadier Fantasy Warriors figs compare with Mirliton's other (historical perhaps?) lines and how well they mix. I afraid I don't know either, but it's a good question. @ The Midge - aren't those Discount Hobby Grenadier figs the smaller Julie Guthrie sculpts, and not part of the Fantasy Warriors range? @jpattern - did I miss your review of the book on the history of Grenadier Models, or is it still forthcoming? Cheers all, David |

Goug em4: Didn't Grenadier own Grenadier UK, wind it up and sell the rights to Nemo? |

I think brave face has identified what gollumsmeagol is asking, but gollumsmeagol might want to verify that. If I'm wrong, simply ignore the following! In my opinion, the ex-Grenadier fantasy humans are, shall we say, quite "heroic". This is particularly true of the barbarians, but even the ones roughly modelled after the Wars of the Roses/Italian Condotta period are a little bit over the top, compared to their Foundry and Old Glory historical counterparts. The large weapons (in some cases, *very* large weapons) are noticeable. But they can work with those other ranges; I've used them with Foundry and OG Swiss, for example. Mirliton's historical ranges are very nicely modelled, but the figures are not nearly as hefty, in my opinion. (They may be more accurate anatomically, but they don't match the Copllestone "style".) Neither are the poses as active. I'm not sure how well their medievals would go with the "fantasy medieval" humans... They're both good. But using them together: not for me. Your mileage may vary. I'd like to see other opinions; not necessarily any more of the "who owned what when" variety... Allen |

Yes, the Fantasy Warriors Barbarians are even larger than most other 28mm, "Heroic" minis. ANd, no, Brave Face, you didn't miss my review. The good news is, I've written it out in longhand, I just need to type it in and post it here. I'll do that tomorrow. Hold me to it! Hah! |

I don't mean to be a pest, just wasn't sure if I'd missed it! I'll look forward to it sir! Cheers, David |
