"In the Gulags of Eastern Russia and the Laogai of central China, one option for lifers is to serve in a Penal battalion with the promise of early release, rather than rot in jail. Survive 3 months of suicidal combat missions and gain your freedom (or so the NKVD recruiters will tell you – the likely reality is transfer to a mine-clearing unit if you show signs of making it to the end of your term). The odds are stacked against you – brightly coloured uniforms to draw attention away from the real troops, low power and poor quality weapons and an explosive collar, just in case you feel like straying from your assigned mission…"

It is great idea and excellent set. I love it. I hope BM will expand this range, I desperately need more poses.

No support or heavy weapons, just more prisoners.

Noted, Umpapa, let's see how these go first then we'll see what we can do. I agree about no heavy weapons, it wouldn't suit the ethos of these figures.

Umpapa,
to get more poses you can convert them by swapping their heads with BM's tank crew ones ( very fiddly but possible)like I did.Hope this helps.

Would be nice to get more poses though as they're great minis

Zrunelord:
Wow great conversions. Satchel charges and flamethrowers are brilliant idea. I will try to steal You idea, but I am afraid I am not so good at converting.

Glad you like them Umpapa,
Go ahead and try it,you won't know until you try.

Just be careful, drilling the heads for pinning is very fiddly.Hold the heads between a wooden clothes peg or something to avoid drilling your fingers.

I would really appreciate the heads of these figures being produced separately lets say ten to a pack as they have the most detailed faces i think i have seen in 15mm scale and would be perfect for doing head swap conversions. :) zac

zrunelord26 May 2015 4:19 a.m. PST

Avamango,
That would be a good idea as some of the heads have great character but one of them may need re mastering (the one with the SAW)as the mould line lies across the face causing mismatch.
Mine are here castrarunis.blogspot.com/2014/09/rusk-army.html

Also painted in orange the only thing I added was a dot of blue + flesh paint to do the shaved heads.
I will paint the next batch in blue as they'll form part of the White Russians from AA.
