I can't figure out how to post a video here. So I'm giving you a link to my blog. This past weekend was the N-SSA 131st Nationals. The video is pretty amazing when see people shooting a original civil war carbine and musket. I have shot an smith and maynard carbine at the national and regional matches for 25 years. Enjoy. link |

Mortars are so cool. Is it me or does anyone else think there should be baskets down range and umpires checking on "3 points"? |

Trajanus the mortar are measured from the aiming stake. Out of the six shot. The longest away from the stake is not counted. Than the total distance of the five are added together. The winner is the team that has the shortest total measurement. It is best to have muddy ground as the mortar balls will not roll. |
