Does anyone have any knowledge concerning the level of Belgian presence along the Meuse in the region of Dinant, May 1940? I have some material of at least one bunker manned just north of Houx, and was wondering if there was more. Thanks for any help |

There are a number of references to elements of the 5th Chasseurs Ardennais in Houx and Yvoir on the flank and some elements of engineers as well. You can find quite a bit, including some photos if you google Dinant 1940 Chasseur Ardennais… and then rely on google translate to sort of unscramble the French into scrambled English!!! Hope this helps a bit. Regards C Not there but earlier one unit of the Chasseurs is credited with knocking out 5 tanks with a single 47mm anti-tank gun…and local legend near where I live credits the regiment with surprising the Germans with the fierceness of their defence at Bodard |

Duncan if your French is at least passable you should purchase this book..quite easy to find and quite cheap: link Lot of maps/TOEs …account of every action down to skirmish level relating the conduct of every unit …a very good book and a source for almost ready made scenarios involving not too much minis regards |
