This is the biggest vessel I have done a deckplan for. This is a freighter designed to haul up to 36 30ton Modules. Six decks of plans. The image below is the smallest one I could post (just showing deck layout).

Costco/Target/WalMart do relatively cheap posters from your USB drive. I haven't done this, but I might. So if you do it, tell us what you learn!

I too would love to see the results of this being printed at 28mm scale. I had an email from a guy who did it for 15mm figures (one of the smaller ships obviously) and he said the detail stayed pretty clear. If you really wanted to do this I think the png files that I save as jpgs for the blog would hold the detail more. Could be wrong though.
