Poorly taken photos using cellphone of the 60th Rifles manning a Gatling gun.

Nice! Are the figures Perrys? Empress?

Rhingyll21 May 2015 11:57 a.m. PST

Thanks. Empress from their Zulu Wars Range. The figure in a coat is an old Wargames Foundry figure I had that finally got painted.Helmets are a little dark but I wanted them to look a little different and thought it looked better with the green uniforms. Not that I have any color or fashion sense whatsoever.

Nice tho' these are I'm a bit disappointed.

By the title of the thread I was hoping for a link to some Youtube footage of an actual Gatling gun in action……

Stuff it. Went and looked my self: YouTube link

They try as hard as they can to take any fun out of it, but by about 6 minutes in they're ready to fire.

Gives a good idea of why the damn things jammed so much.

I saw a Gatling gun from I think it was the Spanish American War being fired on Pawn Stars. That is the only time I have ever seen an actual one being fired.Maybe there is a youtube link to that portion of the program.

Nice diorama.

Watched that gatling demo a while back Trebian. Re-enactors appear to be as bad as historical gamers in overdoing details.

That steampunk gun is somewhat amusing. Fellow looks to have put quite a bit of time and effort into it. Syncing the barrel rotation would be fun.
