On Tuesday, the rebel SPLA-in-Opposition told oil firms to shut down and evacuate workers from the Paloch oilfields and said its fighters had captured the site of a refinery under construction in Melut.

You all seem to know a lot of whats going on in South Sudan.

Keep in mind that your comments are read all over the world and not appreciated by people that have friends and family serving there.

My sister is working on one of the refugee camps with MSF and they are trying to keep 60-80000 human beings from dying.

A friend commands a Souh African Infantry battalion there on peace-keeping duties.

Believe me when I say the UN is doing what it can with available resources as is dozens of other NGO's.

Put your money where your mouth is and donate some money to MSF.

I wish more people would think like that … on many subjects …

My sister is working on one of the refugee camps with MSF and they are trying to keep 60-80000 human beings from dying.

A friend commands a Souh African Infantry battalion there on peace-keeping duties.

May they both/all be safe. I, like many here, have high regards for the SA military.

If I had the extra funds, I might. But there are so many NGOs, Aid Agencies, etc., even here in the US. That I give what I can … especially to Veteran organizations … Again, I wish for a safe return of your sister, your friend and all the others there, in a very, very tough situation … Back in my distant youth, as a young Infantry Officer in the US ARMY. For 22 months in the mid-80s was assigned to a US Mech Bn in the ROK. We flew the UN flag on our base camps, Guard Posts, etc., along the DMZ in the ROK. As we still were, in theory, under the UN Command structure … So I guess I could say … Been There … Done That … wink
