I moved away a number of years ago and moved back about 18 months ago. Right after I moved back, Last Square shut down their store and moved to Carl's place over an hour away from me.

Most of my close friends in the area are board gamers who look at me with the evil eye when I mention miniatures games. Hell, I even tried to ease them in with Song of Blades and Heroes and that was too much for them (though they have no problems playing even the most complex of board games), and my one good wargaming friend in the area just moved away to Las Vegas.

I'm really pining for some local miniatures gaming. Anyone in the area looking to play? I've met gamers from all around the area in Oshkosh, Janesville, Milwaukee and Kenosha but they are too far away to play regularly.

I have a huge collection, and I'll play just about anything. I also have a game room tailor made for gaming…but no one to play with other my eldest son, who is moving away to college soon.

There's only a couple of people in the membership directory, and neither answered my inquiries. If you are local, please PM me!

Be sure to come down to What-Khan in October. That would be a good place to meet local Northern Il/Southern Wi gamers.

I wish you were a little closer. I'm in Neenah, and we've got a pretty good crew around here. If you get desperate I may be able to get the guys to take a road trip once in a while. Also, keep an eye out here. We have a convention going into its second year in January called "Tundracon". We had 50 attendees last year. We hope to go up from there this year. We have it in Appleton at the Legion Hall on College Ave.

Have you tried contacting HMGS-Midwest? I know they do some stuff in WI, but I don't have any idea where it is in relation to you.

Am in Madison on the West Side. Karl's only about 20-30 minutes from me. Only thing ready and painted are CY6 WWII Guadalcanal and CY6 JA Arab & Israeli and Impetus French and Burgundians. Mostly collected/painted are ECW for Victory without Quarter. Have Quar to paint for CoC and a bunch of WWII 20mm to put together and paint. Won't even mention my unpainted SYW. My son has a bunch of SW, Tau and AT43 figs for Tomorrow's War – but haven't figured out the rules. We have large Orc and Wood Elves collection too for WHFB. So an eclectic mix. There are others in the area, but as you said, The Last Square move fragmented things a bit. Pegasus does have open gaming and tables too, so another option.

I'm in Menomonee Falls but could make a trip to Madison for games. Weekends would probably be best. I drive to Poynette for airsoft games so it's not that huge of a haul for me.

Extra Crispy,

I've been a long time attender of Rock Con/ What Khan. I'm the guy who ran Alpha Strike games the last two years and I ran my upcoming Dragon War- Riders of Ashara game there this past year. I'm a huge fan of What Khan and will be there again this year.

I also attend Nav Con in Milwaukee and Little Wars in Illinois (amongst other shows).

brucka, I have a huge lead pile myself, but I also own several painted Warhammer (Wood Elves, Orcs, Empire, Tomb Kings) and Warhammer 40k armies (Imperial Guard, Tau and partial Space Marine and Necron armies), painted 1/300 WWII and 1/600 Modern aicraft, painted 1/144(10mm) WWII and have the parts for (but not painted yet) 15mm WWII British, German, Russian and US armies. I have painted 1/6000 WWI navies and 1/1800 (and several 1/600 WWII) navies.

I also have well over a hundred painted Battletech metals, stacks of Mechwarrior Clickies, a huge X-wing force, every Wings of Glory/ Wings of War full set released, X-wing Armada and much, much more. (Including a ton of fleet scale ships painted up for Full Thrust and Star Trek).

I'm not much of a tournament player- I prefer scenarios or friendly matches.

Tim,
I'm in Stoughton. I'm a mini gamer too. I may be able to get a couple of other guys together for games. If not, you and I can get together.

A bit late to the party but thought I would jump in. I may be moving from the UK to Madison early next year, initially renting in Middleton.

I'm getting quotes at the moment to move my collection to the US.

I also plan to be in WI the same weekend as What-Khan, although time constraints may make visiting that impossible.

So, if you are still looking for historical games in early 2016 you may want to contact this lonely Limey in Middleton – the missus will not be joining me until July :)
