A Good-Looking Army in a Reasonable Amount of Time

Painting a wargaming army is a completely different beast from painting a single miniature for display.

My gaming group is about to kick-off a refight of the entire period 1792-1815 using Blücher.

We're starting with the Argonne campaign that culminated in the Battle of Valmy. As Goethe said:

"From this place, and from this day forth begins a new era in the history of the world, and you can all say that you were present at its birth."

We'll be generating a lot of battles over the next 10-23 years (I'm determined to stay in front of history, but that may get difficult in 1796.

If you follow the blog below (where I will document our process) I will share the scenario for every battle we set up. that should provide plenty of interest for people. I may ask people to see who is interested in resolving some battles for us when it gets busy.

We'll be starting some time in the next 4 weeks or so.

Cheers

Best of luck to you in your mega-campaign.

6mm Kaskett equipped Austrian infantry on it's way from Sho Boki. Thank you very much. I need to get them painted up.

Our refights (yes, I'm running four instances of the campaign right now) will be finished in late July or August. That means I'll need these Austrians by Septmeber when we'll be starting Dumouriez' invasion of Belgium.

Maybe we'll do the invasion of Lombardy in which case I should be painting Piedmontese!!

Cheers

Savoy, not Lombardy. Sigh.
