I've been going to flea markets, yard ales and assorted other second hand venues for as long as I can remember. While I have found tons of great stuff I have never found any historical wargames figures. I did find a huge lot of WarHammer stuff once.
Anyway, I managed to score a 5 pound bag of Stone Mountain ACW figures from one of the vendors this Sunday. Yup, 5 pounds of 20 mm Rebs and Union infantry and cavalry. I actually weighed it on my digital postal scale and it was 4 pounds 15 ounces.
Close enough for me.
Lots of extra heads and equipment, too. I'm guessing that, when all is added up, it will total about 400 or so figures and horses.

Unfortunately not my scale, but hey, it's a start.
Once I get through it all, I'll post a trade notice.
Should be some interested gamers.

We all dream of making a score like that, don't we! Good for you, Bill.

Did you not just "score" a pile of boardgames as well?

You're on a roll…

My mother (hi mom!) picked up an odds and ends box in a local charity store because she thought I might be interested ("What the heck, Mom! I'm a grown man! And…of course I'm interested!").

Turned out to contain a pile of GW Melnibonians and Middle Earth Figures from the 1980's. I was very pleased.

She also scored some SPI games – boxes in good condition, looked like all the coutners, rules, even the little die. But no maps. frown

Nice find.
I also thrift often, but rarely find anything wargaming related. I did find a set of Talisman games once though. What I do find reguarly are the toys that form the basis for much of my sci-fi terrain.
