Those were great figures in their time, and you've made them look great again!

Diced hose in 1/72. I love it.

Wow, great paint job…you would never guess they were the old Airfix figures.

Those look grand! The first unit I ever painted, back in the early 1970s, was the Black Watch made from the Waterloo Highlander Airfix set. I still have them but they are very brittle now and I'm scared to do anything to them after breaking a couple.

Nice again, Paul. I am sorely tempted to make up a unit of both now, for nostalgia. I like the more modern versions, but I do have a lot of these floating around so would be worthwhile.

Thanks for the inspiration

Really nice work. I do not have that much talent now, and had even less 25-30 years ago when I painted my Airfix 1/72 Highlanders.

Yeah, I always liked those figs. Still have a bunch of them.

Airfix we salute you! All those happy glorious memories from long carefree younger days! You have done a sterling job on these little gems, they look so much better then the figures I painted and gamed with.

Mine are still my favorite unit in my army, I have more than were on the ORB but it is my army and I like them. Also back in the day it was hard to find much variety in our local hobby store.

You made a good job of them … I have a few awaiting refurbishment – we quite often ignore the older sets but you have reminded us how good they can look with a bit of effort thumbs up!

Always nice to see these old figures, especially when they're painted so well.
I collected plenty of Airfix figures as a boy but it was the Napoleonics that got me painting and gaming.

Knock those old sets all you want. When given the attention any other figure gets you get an awesome product. Makes me want to buy a set for fun. If I only had the time. It is amazing how those 'awkward poses' breathe life into a diorama.
