I'm downsizing and looking to sell a couple of nicely painted Warmaster armies. Is there still a market for these and are there any thoughts on where best to post them? Thanks, JP |

Not an expert on the subject, but I had one toe in the water a while back, so this is my take. 1. Depends HEAVILY on which army/ies you have. The early conventional stuff will find limited interest at any level. The later iterations, Vampire Counts/Kislev/Araby will do a lot better. 2. Unpainted MOC items are the most sought after. Open but unpainted packs draw less; painted even less, unless rendered by a master. I bought a Vampire Counts Army with gift slips I got once as a present. I wasn't all that interested, but after getting one of the GW painting stations and a few tools they had little else to tempt me. The stuff sat, and sat,…and sat. Finally, I decided to look into it again when I learned there was an Araby army. I looked on eBay and saw that the Araby stuff was reselling for a LOT of money. I checked on my VC stuff and the prices that the MOC packs were getting gave me a case of the vapors. Needless to say, I no longer have any VC stuff. The packs that sold the worst got 2.5-3 times original cost. My record was 8 times original cost. I saw some packs get 10 times original cost. There are some Araby painted units on eBay now that I am watching to see how crazy things get. If you have later armies, happy days. Ebay will be the way to go. Earlier stuff will probably sell, but not for very much, and not very quickly. Think convention flea market. Hope this proves in some way helpful. |

I think that is fair comment.. Araby, VC , Lizardmen ,Kislev, Brets all do well. HE, TK , empire … Not so |

Kpinder is correct. I happened into a very large warmaster collection a few years ago and sold most of it off. It all depends on if it was general release or mail order only, and therefore much more limited release. And of course "collectors" of the really rare packs want them unpainted. Now that GW has discontinued the game the prices may have gone up some, but I was selling nicely (but not professionally) painted common packs for common armies at $15 USD each. I'd get less than that if I sold a whole painted army. The common armies are empire, chaos, dwarf, elf, orc and undead(tomb kings). Check out the unofficial forums for the gw specialist games at specialist-games.com. they are very helpful and have a section for selling stuff. They also have pictures of all of the rare units to help identify them. If you don't want to sell off the units individually I'd sell off any rare ones you have by themselves to maximize the profit on those, and then sell off the commons as a whole lot. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them via PM. |

Hi There are also alot of rare units that go for good money on e-bay. Elite Empire units, Empire Knightly orders, Mortar, Bret Knight Erants, All the Siege engines, HE Swordsmen.Phoenix guard, Dragon Princes, Savage orcs, Dwark Anvil, Hammers, Undead Scorpion. Any of the Storms of chaos or Albion Champaign figures, All the extra figures for Battle of five armies are also rare. There is a website called Stuff of legends with a more complete list.

Thanks guys – what I had hung onto were my large Orc army and Elves. Looks like I'll have to take my chances on E-Bay. |

Yes, Thanks! I still have undead army pack with extras, still in blisters that i have been comtemplating on selling off, myself. Being more historical, I haven't kept up with prices for the fantasy stuff I have. v/r Tom |
