I recommend the whole series and the "Lost Stars" books as well. Unlike some other SF writer we all know his books don't get bloated out as time goes on… |

I prefer John's "JAG in Space" series from when he was writing under his own name. Interesting lo-tech space stuff, no anti-grav, water/sewage storage cells as anti-laser armor, and no FTL! johnghemry.com He also gets to show off a much broader range of writing in his short stories. |

I've got all the 'Lost Fleet' and 'Lost Stars' series and am reading the latest ('Leviathan') at the moment. I think they're great and really enjoy them. |
