I used Woodlands Scenic Hob-E-Tac glue for a project and I'm wondering if it ever dries or hardens? Or does it just stay the way it comes out of the jar? Does anyone know how to make it harden, like white glue? I made some grass tufts with it, but I cannot remove the tufts from the wax paper because the glue will not harden. Solutions? |

I have tried the stuff to attach foliage to tree armatures and the glue stays sticky forever (or nearly forever). The trees were done 15 years ago and the glue is still tacky. I found the Hob-E-Tac stuff to be a real pain in the butt because it is sticky but doesn't seem to hold very well; the foliage drops off every time the trees are used. I have switched to Tacky Glue (low moisture white glue) available at Michael's craft stores. |

I bought it specifically to use on the Woodlands scenic tree armatures – but could never get it to work for me. I now use a mix of hot glue gun, ordinary craft shop tacky glue (like a thick PVA) and contact glue. |

Keep in mind that the Woodland Scenics stuff is intebded for model railways. The trees on a layout are placed and that's it. They arent moved around and handled like wargames trees. |

Seal what you have glued with their Scenic Cement or a diluted matte medium. Should solve your problem (it is always the 2nd step when using Hob-e-tac. Just allow the Hobby Tac to set up for 12-24 hours before spraying heavily and then allow to dry. |

Some time in a low oven ought to help a bit |

Before you go out and buy scenic Cement or Matte Medium, just try water/PVA glue (Elmers white glue) at a 50/50/ mix. It seals everything and dries clear. Its also a fraction of the cost. |

I used their spray coating afterwards, it dried a treat. I'd use white glue or tacky glue these days. |
