Got this in their email newsletter this morning, I hadn't seen it elsewhere - link Ordered two boxes straight away. Anyone have any ideas if these are the Arsenal Miniatures figures that were under construction a few years ago? Phil |

Yes they are, with a few new miniatures. All by Paul Hicks. |

Interesting. Would these work for Portugese colonial troops in Africa? |

Eureka makes fine Portugese garrison troops with "mixed" dressing and armour. These should work for equipped units. |

I like the look of these. And I second the comment on Eureka's figures, plus they are excellent. |

"Interesting. Would these work for Portuguese colonial troops in Africa?" The Warlord are too well dressed and have too much armor. Go with unarmored or better yet quilted jackets (jacks) for both pike and shot. Keep pikes to a minimum. Eureka's range is great. |

Just got my minis. Fine sculpts and casts – everything I expected them to be when I first saw them on Artizans bench. The command mini however, and despite the product picture – comes with a galloping horse, which kind of nerfs it for me, enough to mail WG about it. I very much prefer standing horses for command bases, and you simply get not enough of these. Apart from that, the rider does not look like charging around. BTW: Got an answer on my mail in the time it took me to post this message, <5 min. :-) |
