Before I go trotting off and make an anachronistic mistake, I wanted to get insight from the TMP community. Can the Fireforge Foot Sergeants, Mounted Sergeants and (mounted) Sergeants at Arms be used as Early to Middle French for the HYW? Say for the Edwardian and Caroline Wars. I am not familiar with the middle ages when it comes to armor developments and when armor styles changed, so please forgive my ignorance. |

You could probably use either for early period, but it might be a stretch for the later periods as plate armor and other bits of gear becoming increasingly more common. I would not use any of the mtd sergeants ranges for actual knights however, but might work as mtd sergeants (as the label says) with some selective use of headgear, etc. Damon. |

Not recommended really; they're all rather early in appearance, more 1240 than 1340. For infantry try Claymore and for cavalry try Essex HYW. You'll be glad you did. |

Best to look at the Perry 100YW plastics. |

I should have added initially- I currently have around 40 or so Black Tree Design HYW, mostly from their early war line. bruntonboy – Aren't the Perry plastic ranges for Later in the war, ie Azincourt, and WotR? |

It's already been said above, but I agree that Fireforge will look rather anachronistic for the HYW. They are too early looking. For HYW Perry are very good, though they might actually be a little late for what you are looking for, but as Uglefatbloke mentions, Essex are also superb (foot as well as cavalry) and cover the changes in armour very comprehensively. Unlike Perry's, they are also a lot of fun to paint (just my opinion, obviously). |

You'll struggle to find dismounted early HYW men-at-arms with suitable spears or with open hands so you can fit spears. No idea why not, but nobody seems to make them. |
