Hi all, The completion of the Westphalian Cheveau Legere adds the second regiment to Colonel Ormancey's Lancer brigade at Talavera.
The regiment was not heavily engaged before, in or after the battle and would complete its tour of duty principally engaged in anti-guerilla activities prior to its disbanding along with the other, now unreliable, German units in December 1813. If you would like to know more, then just follow the link to JJ's. link Jonathan |

Wow, thank you for the kind comments. I feel inspired to get on with the British "Heavies", however I have a couple of scenario play tests AAR's coming up in between. Cheers all JJ |

Serious question and not that it matters in war gaming but where would the trumpeter be place when unit is in line? The right of the officer or left. |

Thanks for your comments guys. reeves lk. There is a very nice Osprey illustration of a French Light Cavalry regiment in column of squadrons in their "Napoleon's Light Cavalry Tactics" showing the trumpeters to the right of their respective officers. abelp01 the turbans were sorted out with a needle file. cheers JJ |
