I really like these Mars 1/72nd GNW Saxons. I don't know if the sculpts are 100% historically accurate (or my painting of them either) but to me they've captured the look of early 18th century foot. I'm currently painting up one more foot unit (1st Guards) and then some 1/72nd period British artillery (Zvezda Swedish Artillery of Charles the XII). For cavalry I may use either Dixon or Mini-Fig 25mm Marlburian. Size wise the Mini-Figs seem to be a very close match.

They paint up nicely; I like you flags.

They look really nice. The Mars figures seem to have a nice character to them.

Did you have any problem with paint adhering? I have some HaT cavalry and I am prepping them with thinned PVA glue.

"Did you have any problem with paint adhering?"

Time will tell. I thoroughly washed and rinsed them first; then applied two coats of primer; lastly gave them a matt varnish.

A while back I uncovered some old Airfix 1/76th figures circa 1965 that I had crudely painted back then. I was quite surprised to see the paint still on them! Especially considering they had never been washed first, primed or varnished.
