Yes, until recently I'd thought I was adding them just because all ancient armies should have war elephants (wink wink). In at least the 1st century A.D., I'm pretty sure the Romans used elephants (even in the British isles). |

The Romans did use elephants during the Mid Republic. mainly against Macedon, but other than the story about Claudius had stopped using them by the early empire. A very impressive looking army! |
