What rule set did you use? The command and control seems a little harsh and the shooting a little too deadly.

Elephant rules? I seem to remember a proposal mentioned in the "Purple Primer" that troops following a lead elephant should get downhill bonus thanks to the dent it makes in the terrain mat…

They're a homeset of rules basically taken from various sets including WAB but instead of using a d6, we use a d20, which give you more scope for pluses and minuses. The shooting was very effective davbenbak, you're right, but not because it was easy to hit, we had to thorw a 4 or less on a d20, but because we had so many bowmen. I'm no expert on the Indian army of the period, but Postie who owns the figures says, most of them carried bows??
