Just a quick post about a couple of Marders that I painted recently for Stalingrad: link Thanks for looking!

Just FYI the gun shield should be behind the vehicle front plating not in front of. Google Marder II for some pics |

Thanks! I thought they looked a bit strange. I'll have to get the Dettol out again! |

A shame you need to do the rework. I've learned the value of the internet. A few minutes research have saved me more than once. Along the same lines years ago I bought a German Bison (150mm self propelled gun that it turned out was only used in very limited numbers in North Africa). Since I don't game that theater it sat out the war. I also had one T-38. Last year I kit bashed both producing a rather nice Grille. I did considerable internet research before making the first cut. |

Hindsight is always 20/20 vision, ay? Well it won't take me long to rectify the problem. |

The Battlefront Marder II is not keen on letting you get the gun shield in the right place. I struggled like mad with mine. |

I have just tried it no and yes it was an absolute pig to get into the right place. That's why i thought it went on the front in the first place! |

The paintwork is good though and I like your paint style. I have done the same on AT gun shields before now so always make sure I look at some photos first. |

slight error but hey don't we all mess up now and again. Even so still top notch work, and yes hindsight is a wonderful thing, I remember building a matchbox panther many years ago and messing it up merrily. Safe to say I read instructions very very carefully now! |

Thanks for the compliments, guys, I blame Battlefront. |

Good looking paint jobs. Glad you were able to fix the assembly error. These things happen… |

I did the exact same thing with my Marders and had to repair them as well. Nice paint job, but they look pretty black to me. I would go with panzer gray or ochre. For rubble, I use model RR ballast, then mix it up in a goop of half water/half Elmers glue (wood glue) to set it into position. Your approach looks very good, though. |

Thanks guys, Tuscaloosa, these are painted in Vallejo German Grey drybrushed with Neutral Grey, it's probably the camera that makes them look darker than they actually are. It's my own rubble mix that I use, coloured in three shades, black, brick red and dark brown. It saves time when it's precoloured! I sell it on ebay as well, follow the link on the blog. |

Wasn't this the title of the last ever episode of "Taggart"? |

I would go with panzer gray or ochre. He's doing Stalingrad so panzer gray is right. Dark yellow wasn't ordered until after the battle: february 43 |
