I have a few Hitler's (Hitler's Double?) for use in an "Eat Hitler" game.
Since uniform accuracy is the be all and end all of wargaming, what color should I use to get his coat right?

Brown?

SA men were often called "brownshirts" for the colour of their uniforms. Brown-coloured shirts were chosen as the SA uniform because a large batch of them were cheaply available after World War I, having originally been ordered during the war for colonial troops posted to Germany's former African colonies.

The first use of khaki was the Wissmanntruppe in 1889 in East Africa, while in 1891 the Schutztruppe uniform regulations refer to that color as ‘Khaki Brown Drill.

or you could just go with 'brown'

It is very much a mid brown, lighter than British uniform khaki, darker than khaki drill with a slight orange tint. Maybe take British uniform and mix a bit of ochre into it to lighten it?

Warlord Games has a miniature that I just painted in a brown coat that might be similar to what you are planning.

I basecoated with black and used GW Base XV-88. I then used a 50%-50% mix of Magic Dido Black and Brown ink from the Warstore. Then drybrushed with the XV-88 afterwards with a touch of GW Tallarn Sand mixed in to give the coat a bith of richness.

Hope this helps.

I told him to use Ceramcote Golden Brown and the Dip. It's only Hitler. It's not like it's Ney or somebody flashy.

What color should A.H.'s brown shirt be…
Brown, with lots of little round holes edged in a crimson/scarlet kind-of free-hand coloring job. Oh, and plenty of dusty, dirty shoe prints as applique' finish.
