This is a fictional campaign which I started in June 2013. The map above shows the six campaign areas.

It was designed to provide interesting battles to wargame, using all of my collection of model soldiers and scenery. All battles had to be fought on my 6x6 foot wargames table. The tactical campaign maps were designed so that each square was also a scenic square on the table.

There were six campaign areas, each with a French and an allied commander. So twelve players were required to fill the command posts. 37 players took part during the 22 months which the campaign lasted.

Each campaign area had six objectives, and each objectives was an independent mini campaign. It was anticipated that each one would last about four to six months, and would mean that players did not have an open ended commitment. It would also mean that I could offer replacement commanders a completely new campaign, with a new objective and a full strength army. We completed 28 of these mini campaigns.

I had hoped to complete one campaign day each week, but only managed 54 days in the 88 weeks of the campaign.

The campaign provided us with 95 battles to wargame. Thoughout the whole 22 months of the campaign one of those battles were always set up on our wargame table. Some took two weeks to compete, some two or three days. We aimed to complete one wargame each week.

The campaign has been replaced with a new campaign, in order to incorporate all of the lessons learned.

There is a comprehensive record of the campaign on the campaign diary blog. There is a summary of each day, each campaign phase and a wargame report on each battle fought.

I would like to thank each of the 37 players who took part, and by doing so made the whole thing possible. I would hope that some of them may be tempted to test their command skills again in the replacement 1813 campaign.

Congrats on the finalisation of what was a mammoth undertaking :)

Cheers
