I have had a bunch of dormant 25/28mm Jacobites forvYEARS.
Now I have abandoned the regimental Culloden idea and am going with an individual based skirmish game.
To prime the pump I am working on AWI Moore's Creek Bridge.
Yes yes. I know.
Highland garb is unlikely.
However this will jump start me Hieland Laddies.

Who asked this joker10 May 2015 6:12 p.m. PST

Thankfully I am done with my Napoleonic Highlanders…which have Highland garb! Not that I don't like Highlanders. I just don't like PAINTING them!

But I digress. British Guards are up next for Quatre Bras. 2 Brigades of 24 figures for me. Basic job…with campaign dress. Then some 5 stands of artillery and I am largely done with the figure painting!

Pictors Studio10 May 2015 6:19 p.m. PST

Still working on finishing my range for the Kosciuszko Uprising. As for painting I'm doing some 40K Khorne stuff, Zulu War stuff and Sudan.

I guess that depends on how you define "work." Two weeks ago I painted 6 25mm WWII French MG crewmen. I think that has been my total painting output for the last 10-12 months. I hope to greatly improve on that number this year.

Jamesonsafari10 May 2015 6:21 p.m. PST

20mm Afghanistan for Fighting Season. Plus terrain.
28mm Samurai.
Tidying up some 15mm WW2.

drummer10 May 2015 6:23 p.m. PST

6mm ACW Battle of Shiloh for Altar of Freedom. A couple 10mm battalions for Blitzkrieg Commander, and some 28mm terrain for Pulp Alley are my current projects.

nevinsrip10 May 2015 6:24 p.m. PST

Battle of Kings Mountain. Plenty of figures finished and rady to be placed on my "in the works" terrain boards.
Cutting foam is an outside activity.

Finishing up the Little Prince's Canadian infantry (Valiant minis) and then finishing up some Germans as the opposition

Also have a squad of GW Marines I am finishing off – "Angry Marines"

ForeverGame10 May 2015 6:57 p.m. PST

Basing 6mm Napoleonics on 2x2cm, and losing my patience.
Finding a good home for my 15mm WW2 stuff, now that I really moved to 10mm and working on the rules to make that work.
Basing a Totoro army for HotT, but lacking opponents.
Thinking of basing all my GW stuff for HotT too, but …
Longingly looking at all my 1/144 prepainted planes, but …
Waiting for the next Bandai 2199 MechaColls to add to my HotT take on alternative star wars, but …

--- sigh ---

I've been working on 28mm terrain for world war 2…now I'm piecing together a skirmish platoon level masterpiece to play them with…not with even one original idea of my own I should add :)

darthfozzywig10 May 2015 7:34 p.m. PST

I've been in a virtual painting stasis for months – just not feelin' it – but maybe coming out of it.

I have 10mm ACW reinforcements for my Altar of Freedom project ( I have enough for Seven Pines done, now looking to expand), and I have some 10mm Romans as a test army that are partially done.

But there's loads of unpainted minis stacked up here!

darthfozzywig10 May 2015 7:35 p.m. PST

Oh man. And I just remembered I backed that Conan boardgame with all those minis. Almost hope they fall behind schedule. :)

Crucible Orc10 May 2015 7:41 p.m. PST

Hobby-wise, I'm a dozen figs from finishing my 28mm Post Apoc collection.

While recovering from hernia-repair surgery I cracked open my Sedition Wars (finally) and assembled contents.

Started planning and assembling kits for four modular urban cyberpunk game boards.

Also am working my way through my next book, a post-apocalyptic fantasy novel.

So that should keep me busy…

Final prep for my big 6mm Seven Years War game on Saturday:

Basing 12 Austrian infantry units, finishing the labels for the bases, putting down roads on the table, making all the player aids….

Then on to a battalion of 6mm Legere (288 figures) and figuring out what I need to buy/paint to finish up my next big game: Flames of War in half scale with micro-armor…

Syrinx010 May 2015 8:11 p.m. PST

Finished off a few units for my Zulu British force. the Sudan project has gone on hiatus as my gaming club has re-awoken a long slumbering ancients campaign. So now it is time to paint some Dacians.

Knight of St John10 May 2015 9:20 p.m. PST

Finishing War of the Roses and keep dipping into the Boar war. Next big project will be Great siege of Malta 1565.

goragrad10 May 2015 10:00 p.m. PST

Have 4 elements of Sassanian levy (7HD), 3 of Norman 3CB and one of 3BW, 4 of Ottonian 3KN and 5 of 4SP, 3 Han 2LH, a Skythian 3KN/CV, 2 elements of Medieval peasants (7HD), and a couple of misc figures to finish up other elements awaiting stain, varnish, and basing.

Currently finishing painting 16 Lombard medium CV (not quite sure where they'll end up as they aren't in any 3.0 list), 9 elements of LIR 4BD, a foot (4BD) and a CV command element for same, 6 elements of 3KN Sarmatians, 4 elements of 4KN command Parthians, a Sassanian CV and 4KN element and 4 smellies, 2 Early Armenian 4KN, 2 elements of Ch'in CV, and a few misc figures that will eventually be joined by others for additional armies.

I started prepping figs for a Classical Indian BBDBA army, 8 LH for the Early Armenians (already have 1 of the 3Ax and 3 PS done). Have to work over about 30 Sassanian CV, 14 levy, and 8 LH as well as a dozen Indian JV to cleanup some lead rot.

Have a couple of hundred Normans, Romans, Old Kingdom Egyptians, Thebans, and Thracians primed and waiting their turn.

Need to repair 18 horses I damaged while baking primer and 5 LIR legionaries, 6 Classical Indian command figures and dozen JV, and 6 misc horse with miscast legs leading to breaking (or nearly so) from their bases.

Also cutting bases for the above from some 1/8in stock.

Considering purchasing 10 Midianite camelry to enable me to put together a second BBDBA Midianite army.

Pulled the figures out for a Tibetan BBDBA army.

Looking at the lists to decide which army(ies?) to build with my Arabs.

Looks like I need to quit posting here and get to work…

Still painting Calpe Prussians. Just finished 2 regiments of Uhlans and 2 battalions of French Young Guard, Currently working on two Landwehr cavalry regiments.
Fortunately my commitment to our Ligny and Waterloo games at Enfilade is finished. The rest are bonus figures.

basileus6610 May 2015 11:03 p.m. PST

Finishing my Crusaders and Ayyubid armies (15mm).

Ivan DBA10 May 2015 11:29 p.m. PST

I'm doing Bolt Action (WWII platoon-level skirmish) using 15mm figures. I've pretty much finished an 8th Army force, and I'm about to start on their Afrika Korps opponents. It's a fun putting together 15mm forces for this game, because the figure count (and vehicle count) is pretty low compared to Flames of War or similar. Three squads, a couple heavy weapons teams, a tank, an AT-gun, and perhaps a few transports, and you are ready to go.

I'm also about to resume painting Robotech Tactics figures. I'm still not 100% sold on the rules, I think they play a little slow, but they get the job done and we've had some reasonably good games at the FLGS with them.

MajorB11 May 2015 2:32 a.m. PST

Not that I don't like Highlanders. I just don't like PAINTING them!

It's a lot easier if you use Tartan paint…

MajorB11 May 2015 2:36 a.m. PST

and keep dipping into the Boar war.

Pig-sticking anyone ? grin

MajorB11 May 2015 2:37 a.m. PST

It's all Richard Clarke's fault. I finally got hold of a copy of "Sharp Practice" at Salute and now I'm painting Victrix British Napoleonics and planning to buy Perry French to fight them.

Texas Jack11 May 2015 3:03 a.m. PST

Still working on my 1/72 Napoleonic Russians. Currently have the Pavlograd Hussars on the table.
Horses. frown

olicana11 May 2015 3:11 a.m. PST

Currently upgrading a 28mm SYW Austrian army to double its former size – done 650 figures, about 200 to do.

I've got a few hundred (3ish) 28mm Italian Wars figures to do to 'finish' that collection- already done about 1500.

I still have the WW2 Western Desert 1941 'non-project' to finish off in 15mm (there is still over £750.00 GBP worth in the to paint up cupboard – so about two thirds is done).

Still in the early stages of planning my upcoming Peninsular War collection – I'll start buying when the SYW and Italian Wars piles are exhausted, maybe in 2016.

Yesthatphil11 May 2015 3:13 a.m. PST

Too much … finishing off Yarmuk and Bouvines, logging in 4 more DBA armies, prepping 3 military history talks, casting trophies for a couple of tournaments and organising the public side of Naseby 370 in June.

But really keen to get them out of the way so I can get on with reconstructing a Tony Bath wargame with flats for Warfare in the Autumn and building a battlefield for Edgcote.

There's nothing like an easy life wink

Phil
The next 'paint from scratch' might be figures for Edgecote … not decided what scale or scope for that yet.

It's interesting hearing what everyone's up to.

I'm finishing up some Dorset 54mm Abyssinians for my Imaginations Colonial project. Painting in the simple toy soldier style can be a real relief after the shading, washes, dry-brushing of my other stuff. And I love their glossy shine!

The other project is a 50mm Greek Mythology project for Typhon by Alternative Armies. Lots of fun.
