I am after a Japanese inspired mech for 6mm sci-fi games. Happy to use a 28mm scale miniature, as long as it could plausably function as a giant stompy robot.

Any suggestions much appreciated. :)

There are several samurai-themed Battletech mechs.

Here are three from the Iron Wind Metals webstore:

Hatamoto-Chi from Mechwarrior. Also, take a look at the Karakuri box from Infinity (super expensive but nice) and the ISC faction (I think) from Eden:

Those are from the "online exclusives" section, there are others in the main section, but I think those might be more what you are talking about, maybe?

Yeah, check ebay or Troll & Toad for some pre-painted plastic Mechwarrior versions of these in 10mm-scale (my Hitotsume Kozo is 2" head to toe).

In addition to TBR's excellent suggestions, I would put "Kurita Mech" into google images and you'll get a good number of samurai'ish mecha. Most of which can be bought through the IWM webstore.

Gundams? After all, the Gundam is based on samurai armour. The Shining, Rising and God Gundams from G Gundam and the Gundam Astray Red Frame from SEED (and the Sengoku Astray based off of it) push the samurai aspect up to 11.

Brave Raideen is a more super robot example (and easier to find than a Red Ronin figure…)

Wow that's a lot of leads! Cheers all.

Some of the Warzone Mishima might fit your needs.

How tall do you need them to be?

There are out of stock presently, but I'm sure they'll be restocked, and might be available elsewhere:

Also there are not all, strictly speaking, 1/300. However, the nominal scales aren't as important as the actual size. There's a lot to go through here, but many are suitable for the scale you're after.
