Sometimes I'm glad I fight the odd battle solo. I'd planned to fight Chotusitz out with a few mates but family circumstances intervened to prevent that happening. So I played it solo and I'm glad I did. It would have been a rubbish game for others to play – and the mistake was obvious, though before playing it solo I hadn't seen it. Report here: link

That is a magnificent collection! I particularly enjoyed the unhorsed cavalryman mired in the bog. Nice touch! |

Considering the skills of Der Alte would deploying "off board" and entering the table in line formation be another option? Cheers, Robert |

Hi Robert, If I'm understanding you are right, that was my plan. This shot of the set up (pre-game) shows where and how his command would arrive. The problem was that by the time this was due to happen, the Austrians were at the 'ridge' with Leopolds artillery on it. Frederick would arrive within musketry range and be unable to manoeuvre. I've reset the table slightly, and I think that the scenario, as a game, should now work much better. Well, here's hoping.

Yes indeed, that cavalryman is 'unhorsed'. |
