On the weekend of the 13th and 14th of June, the Royal Armouries will be holding a full programme of events commemorating the 200th Anniversary. link Part of this will include a wargames event to be held in the Armouries Hall. Several groups are already confirmed, we ourselves will be putting on a 6mm game of the Battle of Ligny. Other games include Waterloo (also 6mm) a column attack and Quatre Bras. The organisers are have requested that we look for further interested groups, and if you want to take part, please contact Lisa Power Lisa.Power at armouries.org.uk The event is free to the public. They have also requested that I garner support for the Museum in a contest, so if you could vote for the royal Armouries at the following address, they would be most appreciative. link Hope to see you there. |

Despite the link I couldn't find anywhere to register a vote. Thanks for highlighting the Waterloo event though. |

Thanks to the guys from Leeds Wargames club and all the other groups who put on games – there must have been over 10 on the go at once. Some friendly hosts to chat to and some useful hints and tips on how to get the best out of the "Blucher" rules. Add to that, the things happening elsewhere in the Armouries (the original of Lady Butler's Charge of the Scots Greys, the Carabinier armour with the roundshot holes punched through front and back, a Living History type from the Scots Greys, and a display of mediaeval two-handed sword fighting) and I had a great day out. |

A really nice relaxing weekend…nice to chat to quite a few people who are going over to the Waterloo battlefield as well….Blucher was the ruleset of choice with the lads at the Sheffield and Rotherham club and a few others as well…Blucher is a very versatile game that really seemed to work quite well.
